  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup chopped onions
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup, mustard

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onions, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into 4 equal parts and shape into burger patties.
  3. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium heat. Cook the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
  4. During the last minute of cooking, top each patty with a slice of cheddar cheese and allow it to melt.
  5. Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in the skillet for a minute or until lightly browned.
  6. Assemble the burgers by placing the cooked patties on the bottom half of the buns. Add your favorite toppings such as lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup, and mustard.
  7. Top with the other half of the bun and serve hot.
