  • 2 pounds flank steak
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced

Instructions

  1. Place the flank steak in the crockpot.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the orange juice, lime juice, garlic, cumin, chili powder, oregano, salt, pepper, and cilantro. Pour this marinade over the steak.
  3. Add the sliced onion and bell pepper on top of the steak.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the steak is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
  5. Once cooked, shred the steak using two forks and mix it with the vegetables and juices in the crockpot.
  6. Serve the carne asada with warm tortillas, rice, beans, and your favorite toppings like salsa, guacamole, and sour cream.
