Salisbury steak is a classic comfort food dish that is perfect for a cozy night in. This recipe is easy to make and packed with flavor. Serve it with mashed potatoes and green beans for a complete meal that the whole family will love.

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, onion, garlic, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  2. Shape the mixture into oval patties, about 1/2 inch thick.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Brown the patties on both sides, about 5 minutes per side. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, whisk together the beef broth and flour. Cook for 2-3 minutes until thickened.
  5. Return the patties to the skillet and spoon the sauce over them. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. Serve the Salisbury steak hot with mashed potatoes and green beans.
