  • 1 lb flank steak
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 tostada shells
  • 1 cup refried beans
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup diced red onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1/2 cup crumbled queso fresco
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • Lime wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix together lime juice, garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Place flank steak in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over the steak. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  2. Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Remove steak from marinade and grill for about 6-8 minutes per side, or until desired doneness. Let the steak rest for 5 minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.
  3. Spread a spoonful of refried beans on each tostada shell. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, red onion, cilantro, sliced avocado, and crumbled queso fresco.
  4. Place sliced steak on top of the tostadas and serve with lime wedges on the side.
