Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 package active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, diced
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 23 tbsp milk

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Heat milk and butter in a saucepan until warm and butter is melted. Add to dry ingredients and beat for 2 minutes.
  2. Add egg and 1/2 cup flour, beat until smooth. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough. Turn onto a floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes.
  3. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.
  4. Punch dough down. Turn onto a lightly floured surface and roll into a 12×10-inch rectangle.
  5. Spread softened butter over dough. Combine brown sugar and cinnamon, sprinkle over butter. Sprinkle diced strawberries over sugar mixture.
  6. Roll up jelly-roll style, starting with a long side. Cut into 12 slices and place in a greased 13×9-inch baking pan. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 30 minutes.
  7. Bake at 375°F for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack.
  8. In a small bowl, combine powdered sugar and enough milk to achieve desired consistency. Drizzle over warm rolls.
