  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, softened butter, eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix until well combined.
  3. Fill each cupcake liner about halfway with the chocolate batter.
  4. Add a spoonful of caramel sauce on top of the batter in each cupcake liner.
  5. Sprinkle chopped pecans and chocolate chips over the caramel sauce in each cupcake liner.
  6. Top each cupcake with more chocolate batter, filling the liners about 3/4 full.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cupcake comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cupcakes to cool before serving.
