  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 pound ground beef or turkey
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced

  • 2 cups chopped green chiles fresh or canned
  • 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Method
 

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add the ground beef or turkey, cooking until browned.
  3. Stir in the chopped onion and garlic; sauté until tender.
  4. Add the diced potatoes and chopped green chiles to the pot.
  5. Pour in the chicken or vegetable broth and bring to a boil.
  6. Sprinkle in the ground cumin and season with salt and pepper.
  7. Let the mixture simmer for about 20-25 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.
  8. Stir in the heavy cream and allow to heat through.
