Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, powdered sugar, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Stir until well combined.
Pour the melted butter into the dry ingredients and mix until the mixture is crumbly and resembles wet sand.
Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish to form the crust. Bake for 15 minutes or until lightly golden.
While the crust is baking, prepare the filling by whisking together the light corn syrup, brown sugar, 2 tablespoons melted butter, vanilla extract, and 1/4 teaspoon salt in a separate bowl until smooth.
Stir in the chopped pecans and semisweet chocolate chips until they are evenly coated with the mixture.
Once the crust is finished baking, remove it from the oven and pour the pecan-chocolate filling over the hot crust, spreading it evenly.
Return the baking dish to the oven and bake for an additional 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is set and slightly puffed.
Allow the bars to cool completely in the baking dish before slicing into squares. Enjoy your Texas chocolate pecan pie bars!
