Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound Italian sausage
  • 8 cups cubed bread stale or toasted
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 2 celery stalks diced
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh sage chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme chopped
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the sausage over medium heat.
  3. Add the diced onion and celery to the skillet; sauté until softened.
  4. Stir in the minced garlic, sage, and thyme; cook for another minute.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, combine the bread cubes, sausage mixture, and broth.
  6. Season with salt and pepper, adjusting to taste; mix well.
  7. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  8. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until golden.
