Savory Air Fryer Chicken Wings with Honey and Sesame

Make Air fryer chicken wings with honey and sesame with clear steps, pantry staples, and flexible swaps.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken wings
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger optional
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions chopped (for garnish)

Method

  1. Begin by preheating your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the chicken wings with olive oil, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Toss well to ensure the wings are evenly coated.
  3. Place the seasoned wings in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they are not overcrowded. You may need to work in batches depending on your air fryer size.
  4. Cook the wings for 25-30 minutes, turning them halfway through the cooking time. The wings should be golden brown and crispy.
  5. While the wings are cooking, prepare the honey and sesame sauce. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and grated ginger (if using). Stir continuously until the mixture is heated through and slightly thickened, about 5 minutes.
  6. Once the wings are done, transfer them to a large mixing bowl. Pour the honey and sesame sauce over the wings and toss to coat them evenly.
  7. Sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped green onions on top for garnish.
  8. Serve immediately while hot, and enjoy your flavorful air fryer chicken wings!
