Ingredients
  

  • 4 large onions sliced
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup dry white wine
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 teaspoons dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Baguette slices for serving
  • 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese

Method
 

  1. Prepare the onions by slicing them thinly.
  2. Melt the butter in the slow cooker and add the sliced onions.
  3. Add thyme, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  4. Pour in the beef broth and white wine.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  7. Serve hot and top with baguette slices and Gruyère cheese.
