Ingredients
  

  • 4 medium sweet potatoes
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Peel and chop the sweet potatoes, then boil them until tender.
  3. Drain the sweet potatoes and mash them in a large bowl.
  4. Stir in maple syrup, melted butter, milk, eggs, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  5. Pour the sweet potato mixture into a greased baking dish.
  6. In a separate bowl, mix chopped pecans with a bit of melted butter and a sprinkle of brown sugar, then sprinkle over the sweet potato mixture.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes until the top is golden brown.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
